Welcoming Parents on April 4th!
Parents are welcome to join their student(s) for lunch. If a parent plans to eat with their child at school, please contact the office at 558-2167 to let us know about your plan. If you are having school lunch, this needs to be done by 9:00 AM so that the cafeteria can prepare the needed food. It is also helpful to let your child’s teacher know, so they are aware of your visit. The office staff will let you know the time your child is in the cafeteria. Upon coming to school, parents will need to ring the doorbell at the main entrance and provide their identification card to the secretaries to sign in as a visitor. This will print a name tag and location for the time you are here at school. In the cafeteria, parents will sit with their child at the table assigned to their child’s classroom. Parent meals may be charged to the student account if sufficient funds are in the account. All adults, including parents, are charged the full adult fee.
School meals include the following components; milk and/or water, fruit, vegetable, grain, and protein. If students choose to bring a meal from home, families are asked to send nutritious food items. Milk is available for purchase. A free booster meal is available to supplement meals from home. Booster meals must contain a minimum of three of the five items. A common booster meal consists of milk, fruit, and vegetables. Bringing food from outside restaurants to the cafeteria is discouraged. Students are not allowed to have soda with any lunch eaten at school. If a parent is choosing to bring in lunch from an outside establishment, it may only be brought for their child.
Students are not allowed to be sharing their foods or beverages with one another, given concerns about sanitation, allergies and health-related issues. We view the cafeteria as an extension of the classroom, and expect students to follow common area expectations in the cafeteria.
