The West Willow Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is an integral part of the school community by building the parent/school/community connections, fundraising, and coordinating volunteers.
PTA is responsible for monthly family fun events. These events are truly fun for the whole family. The West Willow community is strengthened by the friendships that grow by being with other West Willow families and having a good time.
Fundraising efforts are essential for a strong school. Funds raised at West Willow are used to enhance your child’s schooling by providing many positive things, including field trips, library books, playground equipment, classroom supplies, and more. Our PTA holds a walk-a-thon in the spring but you can also help raise money for our school by doing the following:
- Hy-Vee Receipts ~ Send your receipts with your child to school.
- Casey’s ~ Select West Willow PTA from the rewards list.
- Target Red Card ~ Select our school PTA from the list.
- Box Tops ~ This is all online now so you just need to scan your receipt.
The PTA coordinates many volunteer opportunities for parents, helping to build that relationship between the families and the school. The list of volunteer opportunities here at West Willow is endless: helping at the book fair, donating food for teacher meals during conferences, hanging artwork in the hallway, leading a game at field day, helping at a family fun event, helping in the classroom, going on field trips, and more. We are always in need of volunteers, whether it be parents, grandparents, or guardians. When you volunteer, not only are you helping West Willow, but you are also setting an example for your children of how to give of your time to help better the school and our community.
